Pelvic Health Physiotherapist | Co-Owner, Belleville Integrative Health Centre
Angela Lagerlof is one of Eastern Ontario’s leading pelvic health physiotherapists, and she’s spent over 14 years helping to break down the stigma, silence, and confusion that often surround this area of care. Through advanced training, patient education, and clinical leadership, Angela has helped shift how pelvic health is understood and accessed across the Quinte region.
“Pelvic health isn’t just for new moms: it’s for everyone. I treat men, women, kids, athletes, cancer survivors. It’s about restoring function and quality of life.”
Expertise Backed by Education
Angela’s professional path began in 2008 after graduating from Queen’s University with her Master’s in Physical Therapy. Since then, she’s completed over 25 post-graduate courses ranging from urinary incontinence, GI dysfunction, and pelvic pain to oncology, menopause, pediatric incontinence, and pelvic health in sport.
This deep well of education isn’t for credentials: it’s about doing better for her patients.
“I believe in continuous learning. Pelvic health is complex, and it changes with research and experience. I want my patients to benefit from both.”
From Personal Experience to Professional Insight
Angela’s passion for pelvic care was sparked by her own experience after the birth of her first child. Following a complicated delivery, she was shocked by the lack of education and direction offered during recovery: especially as a trained physiotherapist. That experience pushed her to pursue pelvic training during maternity leave.
Today, she brings both clinical and personal knowledge to her practice, having experienced both caesarean and vaginal birth herself.
“It’s made me a better practitioner. I understand what recovery feels like in the real world: not just on paper.”

A Career Rooted in People
Angela’s career has taken her from Ottawa to Cornwall to Belleville. She co-owned Cedarview Physiotherapy in the Ottawa region from 2010 to 2014. After that, she and her husband relocated to Belleville to support her husband’s career, and also to raise their two children closer to Angela’s parents to flourish their relationship with their grandparents.
Ten years later, in 2024, Angela became co-owner of Belleville Integrative Health Centre. She sees this as an opportunity to lead from within: a chance to mentor the next generation of pelvic health providers and to continue shaping a clinic grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care.
“BIHC has a team-first mentality. Everyone’s here for the right reasons: to support people, not just treat conditions.”
Changing Lives, One Patient at a Time
Angela’s practice is as diverse as her training. One day she might be helping a young boy regain bladder control; the next, working with a woman navigating menopause or supporting a man recovering from prostate surgery.
She recalls her first pelvic health client clearly: a middle-aged woman who had been isolating herself due to urinary incontinence. After a short course of treatment, she regained her confidence and was able to take her life back.
“That’s when I knew this is what I’m meant to do.”
Angela Lagerlof isn’t just offering leading physiotherapy care, she’s shifting how pelvic health is understood, accessed, and respected. Through education, empathy, and experience, she continues to lead a quiet but powerful revolution in health care.
