Widow to Local Veteran, Larocque, to Lay Silver Cross Wreath – Trenton Remembrance Ceremony

A Legacy of Service Continues
This Remembrance Day, widow Joan Larocque will lay the Silver Cross wreath on behalf of the Trenton Legion during the official ceremony. Joan is honouring the life and legacy of her late husband, Cpl. Jacques Larocque, a military electrician who served with pride across Canada.
This is the third consecutive year Joan will lay the Silver Cross wreath for Trenton Legion. Joan’s act of remembrance is not only for Jacques, but for all families who carry the stories of sacrifice and service.
The ceremony will take place at the Trenton Cenotaph, ironically just a block away from where her husband’s name shines brightly across her storefront, on Trenton Main Street.
After Jacques’ passing, Joan opened Larocque Boutique in downtown Trenton. The lighting and giftware store is named in tribute to him. Jacques’ name hangs above the door, and his boots sit quietly in the window, a symbol of a life dedicated to country and family.
