Physiotherapist | Co-Owner, Belleville Integrative Health Centre
From Horseback to Healing
For Rebecca Holland, the path to a career in physiotherapy began on horseback. A competitive equestrian for most of her life, Rebecca was introduced early on to the complex relationships between movement, strength, recovery, and performance. That hands-on awareness of the human body and what it takes to rehabilitate eventually led her to a career in physiotherapy. Today, she brings that same athletic insight, technical skill, and compassion into every treatment room at Belleville Integrative Health Centre (BIHC), where she serves as a physiotherapist and co-owner.

Deep Roots, High Standards
Originally from Belleville, Rebecca completed both her Honours degree in Kinesiology (2012) and her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (2016) at Queen’s University. After years of practicing physiotherapy and co-owning a clinic in Lindsay, Ontario, she returned home to the Quinte region to grow her career in her hometown community.
Rebecca holds certifications in acupuncture, dry needling, spinal manipulation, and pelvic health rehabilitation. She is currently working toward the highest specialization in manual and manipulative therapy through the Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) program. This credential is held by only a select few of the most advanced orthopedic practitioners in the country.
As a clinical instructor at Queen’s University, she helps mentor the next generation of physiotherapists, challenging herself to stay current and continuously refine her own practice. “I love learning. I really enjoy pushing myself to be better every day for my patients and for the clinic,” she shared.
A Whole-Body Approach
A unique blend of biomechanical expertise and holistic care is what makes up Rebecca’s work. Whether she’s treating spinal pain, sports injuries, pelvic floor dysfunction, or unexplained symptoms, her approach is deeply patient-centred. She works to uncover the root cause of an issue and create a care plan tailored to each person’s needs and lifestyle.
One of her most memorable cases involved a patient presenting with vague but severe symptoms. Through a comprehensive assessment and a strong referral network, Rebecca helped identify a potentially life-threatening brainstem herniation: a rare condition that likely would have otherwise gone undiagnosed.
“It was a pivotal moment for me. It reminded me of how critical our role is in the broader healthcare system,” she said.
Her commitment to patient care extends beyond the clinic walls. Rebecca often sets up mobile treatment booths at horse shows, supporting fellow riders with recovery and performance-based care. She still owns one horse herself and sees a direct connection between her life as a rider and her skills as a physiotherapist.
“Riding taught me to be aware of the smallest shifts in movement,” Rebecca explained. “That sensitivity is something I bring into my practice every day.”
Leading Through Collaboration
Rebecca joined BIHC in 2022 and became a co-owner in August 2024. She was drawn to the clinic’s strong interprofessional model and evidence-based care standards.
“Everyone here is really committed to high-level care, but there’s also humility and teamwork. We learn from each other every day,” she said.
As a co-owner, Rebecca brings leadership, innovation, and a clear clinical vision. She’s passionate about creating space for women in physiotherapy to thrive, especially those balancing family life and career.
Strength in the Details
Precision is one of Rebecca’s greatest strengths.
Her treatment technique, ability to assess subtle dysfunctions, and commitment to lifelong learning are all notable. For her, physiotherapy is about so much more than symptom relief. It’s about giving people the tools, knowledge, and support they need to live more comfortably and move through life with strength and self-awareness.
